Hi, I am going to review Scarlet and Ivy. They are books about twin sisters whose school is a bit strange! There are six books in the series, and I'm going to review the first book called Scarlet and Ivy - The Lost Twin. The author is Sophie Cleverly. I would recommend this book for 8 - 11 year olds because it is scary in some parts.
In this book Miss Fox (who is standing in as head teacher of Rookwood School) sends a letter to Ivy saying that Scarlet is no longer alive. It also says that Ivy is invited to take Scarlet's place at Rookwood. When Ivy gets to the school she is shown to Scarlet's old room and inside Scarlet's mattress is her diary but some of the pages have been ripped out! There are clues in the last pages of Scarlet's diary which hold clues of where the other diary pages are. Ivy suspects that Scarlet is not dead but is missing and she thinks that the diary pages will tell her where to look for Scarlet. Ivy needs to solve the clues to find out where Scarlet really is and what Miss Fox is up to...
Why is this a good book?
Scarlet and Ivy - The Lost Twin is a good book because it is a mystery where Scarlet is missing and Ivy has to figure out where the clues that Scarlet has left are and she also has the interfering headmistress Miss Fox on her tail.
Who is my favourite character in the book?
I think it is hard to choose who is my favourite character so I have chosen my two favourites. My first favourite character is Ivy because she has to act as her twin and Scarlet is normally naughty but she is not naughty. My second favourite character is Miss Finch, the ballet teacher, because you might not think that she would play a big part in the story but she does.
What would I rate it out out of 10?
I would rate it 10 out of 10 because it is my second favourite book and I really enjoyed reading it. It is a good idea for a book. It made me want to read the next one straight away!
If you have not read this book, I think you should, and if you have please leave me a comment saying what you think about it. I look forward to writing my next post. Bye!
Wow! 10/10 - sounds like a great book! Love the review!
This sounds a very exciting book and I am sure once anyone has read this book, they would want to read the rest in the series. It is a great recommendation that you gave it 10/10! Well done Erin!
