Hi! This week I am reviewing The Extraordinary Adventures of Alice Tonks by Emily Kenny. I recommend this book for age 8+ because it is an exciting adventure. Whenever you read a page it will make you want to read more.
I chose this book in the bookshop because the main character has red hair, like ME!
Alice Tonks is an autistic girl who lives with her Grandma in Pebblehampton. Her Gran sends her to boarding school and at the open day, a seagull starts talking to her! She realises that she can understand animals. He tells her that he's got a job for her and then her adventure begins...
What makes this a good book?
What makes this a good book is that it keeps you in suspense and is exciting the whole way through. It is an unusual but good idea for a book because she can understand what the animals are saying. Alice has always been different but this has completely changed her life.
What would I rate this book out of 10?
I would rate this book 9 and 4/6 out of 10 because I really enjoyed reading it and I wanted to read it at any chance I could.
Thank you for all of your comments. I would like it if we could understand what animals are saying. Perhaps one day in the future we will be able to! 🐓💬🤔aha!😃
Sorry I am a bit late commenting on your last review! I found this review really interesting and liked that the main character was autistic ( also that she had red hair!) How brilliant it would be if we really COULD understand animal talk!
Great review! I would love to be able to talk to animals like Alice!
Glad you enjoyed it so much👍 Perhaps one day humans will be able to really understand what animals are saying🤔
